The cast of the military drama, JAG, have a varied
and distinguished background including a former rock band member,
a computer geek, a child star, a comedian, a school teacher, a documentary
producer, a boxer, and more. Donald P. Bellisario has taken this
unique group of talented individuals and transformed them into a
show which attracts fans from all walks of live. David James Elliott
joined the original cast of JAG and is the lead male character,
Lt. CMDR Harmon Rabb, Jr. David's goal was to be in a rock band.
During high school he became interested in acting and the rest is
history. He has recently begun developing his talents as a director.
David's beautiful wife, Nanci Chambers, plays the role of Lt. Lauren
Singer in the series. Catherine Bell was first spotted on JAG in
the episode Skeleton Crew. She portrayed Rabb's girlfriend who is
murdered. Bell enjoyed her experience on JAG so much she wrote to
Donald Bellisario and suggested she be cast as Rabb's new partner,
explaining her being the image of his dead girlfriend would add
good plot tension to the show. Mr. Bellisario must have agreed with
her because Catherine became the female lead, Sarah "Mac" MacKenzie,
when JAG moved to CBS for Season 2. Patrick Labyorteaux is one of
the few remaining cast members from the original pilot episode.
He along with David James Elliot, have been with the show from the
beginning. Patrick's character, LT. Bud Roberts, Jr., is the most
human of the cast. Striving to fulfill his dreams, Bud encounters
problems with a down to earth, lovable persona. He is the youngest
member of the legal team and as such looks up to and seeks guidance
from his mentors, arm and Mac. A former Texas school teacher, John
M. Jackson is the JAG. As Admiral Chedwiggen, John is the commanding
officer of the JAG Corps. He exhibits calm and demands perfection
from his staff and directs their activities with a strong, determined
will expected of an ex-SEAL. Karri Turner, a comedian with a brilliant
wit, plays Lt. Harriet Sims. Lt Sims is married to Bud Roberts and
brings to the ensemble a charm and openness of emotion sometimes
missing in the other strong characters. Harriet manages to keep
everything in the office running smoothly while encouraging her
husband to achieve his goal's, raising a son, all while reminding
the rest of the staff of their personal and professional commitments.
Together with the Gunny, played by Randy Vasquez, and Tiner, Chuck
Carrington, the ensemble under the direction of Donald P. Bellisario
continues to intrigue and entertain us on weekly basis. JAG is aired
on CBS every Tuesday and USA Networks daily. For episode dates,
