She left her husband, Christopher Ragle, after he was jailed for armed robbery. Her marriage was a secret, until Ragle tracked Mac down several years later. Ragle attempted to blackmail Mac, but he died in an accidental shooting. Mac was put on trial for his murder, before her name was eventually cleared, [in episode "People v.
